GRID Alternatives Solarthon

I’ve signed up for the July 31 solarthon for GRID Alternatives, a nonprofit that helps low-income families install solar panels and save money on energy. Please consider sponsoring me!

With GRID Alternatives, other volunteers, and members of the families in a low-income Oakland community development, I’ll help install solar systems that will save each family more than $16,000 over the expected lifetime of the system (that’s usually about 25 years). This is especially helpful for low-income families, because energy costs can be one of their biggest expenses, after housing.

I’m looking forward to learning more about solar energy and helping the community at the same time.
